NORTH Somerset folk looking for work can not only get a job in the care industry but they can make a career for themselves too
WE are looking for long-term staff across North Somerset to join our team.
Nicky Norville, Registered Manager at NHC, said:
“We’re looking for new recruits from across North Somerset that are interested in joining us on a long-term basis and carving out a real career for themselves within the care industry.
We’re able to offer a stable job for anyone interested, which includes the opportunity to receive full, free comprehensive training and achieve Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level 2 as well as the chance to progress up the career ladder.
People could start with us as a care worker and within a few short years they could be in a managerial role. It really is a job for life.
There is immense job satisfaction too as each day you’ll be making a difference to our service users’ lives by not only providing care for them but by being a friendly face and someone for them to talk to.
Anyone interested in becoming a carer should get in touch by calling 01934 422800.”
Due to our continued hard work and dedication to the sector, we support hundreds of people remaining in their own homes. We provide an extensive range of services, from daily calls to bespoke live-in care services.
Our large team of trained, specialist, care workers provide positive-based outcomes and person-centred care to people throughout North Somerset.
“As well as training in dementia care, new carers will also take part in a regulated training programme including emergency first aid or first aid at work, safe handling of medicines, moving and handling of people, health and safety, fire safety, safeguarding adults, infection control and food hygiene.
Each new carer will be shadowed by a senior member of the team for a minimum of one week. Thereafter they are regularly supervised and observed delivering care in the homes of service users.
New members of the team are encouraged to complete their NVQ L2 (QCF) Health & Social Care, if they don’t already hold the qualification or NVQ L3 if they are looking to become a senior carer.”
As well as full training, we also offer competitive rates, travel time for walkers and drivers, mileage payments, consistent hours, a refer a friend scheme and national discount scheme for major brands.
Our core values, instilled into every staff member, include protecting people’s dignity, choice, independence, privacy and rights and ensuring people maintain involvement in their community and achieve fulfillment in their lives. We work in a person-centred way which puts the person at the centre of the process of planning and delivering care, ensuring their views and wishes are reflected in their care plan.
We use Weston-super-Mare based AAA Training Solutions, a specialist health and social care training company, to deliver full five day classroom based inductions, training and refresher training to experienced and non-experienced staff.
