Researchers have revealed the secret to stay young; follow a Mediterranean diet

 

The Mediterranean diet that consists of olive oil and fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and poultry, has been shown to reduce the risks of such diseases as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and heart disease.

The researchers from Boston, US followed 5000 nurses over 10 years, who adhered to the diet; It revealed that they had longer and healthier telomers.

Telomers protect the end of chromosomes from declining. As we get older, our telomers get shorter which links to age related diseases.
