Staff training and induction programme

Notaro Homecare understands the importance of ensuring that all of our staff are trained to the highest standard, so that the care and support they provide to our service users is underpinned by sound knowledge, quality and understanding. 

Each member of the team is encouraged to complete their NVQ L2 (QCF) Health & Social Care, if they don’t already hold the qualification or NVQ L3 if they are looking to become a senior carer. 

This training will accompany the mandatory induction programme that has to be complete by every staff member within the first 6 months of their contract. This mandatory training includes the following regulated training programmes and is updated on an annual basis:

·         Emergency First Aid or First Aid at work

·         Safe Handling of Medicines

·         Moving and Handling People

·         Health and Safety

·         Fire Safety

·         Safeguarding Adults

·         Infection Control

·         Food Hygiene

 Other specific training is available to staff to help with certain requirements of service users:

 ·         Dementia Awareness

·         Mental Capacity Act

·         Equality and Diversity

·         Advanced Care Planning

·         End of Life / Palliative Care

·         Stroke Training

·         MS Training

·         Peg Feeding

We invest heavily in our workforce to ensure that the quality service and the safety and well being of our clients are never compromised. To accompany the induction programme, each new member carer has to be shadowed by a senior member of the team for a minimum of a week.  Thereafter they are regularly supervised and observed delivering care in the homes of our clients.  We will always ask your permission in advance if we plan to undertake an observation in your home.
