Our staff highlight importance of Carers Week

Our CARERS help raise awareness of Carers Week

Our carers here at Notaro Homecare Ltd are helping to raise awareness about the important role they play as part of Carers Week, this week; June 12th until 18th.

Carers Week highlights the impact of caring on daily life and encourages the public to think about whether they could manage a caring role.

Nicky Norville, Registered Manager said:

“Carers Week is an important campaign, which focuses on how the UK’s current carer population is coping and how effectively we are being supported by the Government. It also highlights the growing numbers of carers and investigates if the wider population is prepared for future caring responsibilities. Every day more than 6,000 people take on a caring responsibility and becoming a carer can significantly impact a person’s life. The campaign will help those already in the industry like me to make sure we are accessing all the practical and emotional support we need to care safely and look after ourselves.”

We recognise the hard work and dedication our care workers put into their jobs.

Nicky added:

“We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to our team of care workers for all their hard work and dedication. Carers Week is crucial to highlight the importance of Community Carers within the our Notaro Homecare Ltd team as well as those around the UK. We ensure our care workers receive as much support as they need within their roles and we are able to offer people advice on working within the industry if they call us on 01934 422800.”

Kelly takes to the skies for charity…

Our Housing Support Officer, Kelly Bishop, takes to the skies for charity…

Our Housing Support Officer, Kelly Bishop, will be taking part in a skydive in aid of charity this month (June, 2017).

Kelly Bishop, will be doing the skydive on Saturday, June 17 to raise money for Cots for Tots, which is a special care baby charity for sick and premature babies.

Thirty-year-old Kelly from Weston-super-Mare, said:

“This will be the first skydive I have ever done and I am feeling a little nervous about it but I know it is for such a worthwhile charity so this will definitely get me through.

I have chosen Cots for Tots, which is based at Bristol’s Special Care Baby Unit at St Michael’s Hospital, as I have friends who have used its facilities so it is close to my heart. I hope to raise lots of money for this worthy cause.”

Cots for Tots raises funds for life-saving equipment and pioneering new facilities to transform the lives of babies from Bristol, the South West England, South Wales and throughout the UK.

The charity has its own dedicated 12 bedroom house providing free ‘home from home’ accommodation for parents, brothers and sisters of babies in the Special Care Baby Unit.

Kelly will be taking part in the skydive in Swindon on Saturday, June 17. People can donate to Kelly’s JustGiving page at https://goo.gl/xaxjsZ.

Nicky Norville, Our registered Manager, said:

“We wish Kelly the very best of luck with her skydive. It is great to see our staff doing their bit for worthwhile causes and we will be sponsoring Kelly too.”

Three care providers recruiting across North Somerset

We are one of the three care providers recruiting across North Somerset…

CARERS working for existing care providers in North Somerset may now (May, 2017) be eligible to transfer to three winning providers and continue their career in the industry.

North Somerset Council has recently awarded the final care contract for homecare provision across the county for the next seven years to us at Notaro Homecare ltd, together with Brunelcare and Alliance Living Care, who are also looking for brand new recruits during information days on May 30 and 31 to deliver the growing number of hours.

Nicky Norville, our Registered Manager said:

“After taking over the care contract from the previous providers, we’re keen to make sure their staff are aware that they may be eligible to transfer to our companies, which will enable them to continue caring for the same service users and allow them to have a blossoming career in the care industry.”

We are working together to transfer existing packages of care from the current providers and are inviting all staff working for existing providers to go along to one of our information days to see if they are eligible to transfer.

Information days will be held on May 30 at the Scotch Horn Leisure Centre in Nailsea from 10am until 5pm and on May 31 at the Parish Wharf Leisure Centre in Portishead from 12noon until 5pm for anyone who is currently employed by one of the existing care providers and wants to transfer or anyone who is simply interested in a career in care.

These information days will offer the opportunity for staff to find more about the new providers and about their rights to transfer whilst keeping their own Terms and Conditions and Length of Service.

Tim Part, Assistant Director of Alliance Living Care, said:

“The well-being of service users and the standards of service that people receive are our paramount concern and we’re keen for the information to get out there that we want to provide the best care possible and to employ the staff who have been doing this work to date so that the service users have as much of a seamless transfer of their service as possible.”

Together with Alliance Living Care and Brunelcare, we support hundreds of people to remain in their own homes. Providing an extensive range of services, from daily calls and sleep-ins to bespoke live-in care services.

Our large teams of trained, specialist, care workers provide positive-based outcomes and person-centred care to people throughout North Somerset.

Carolyn Mills, Registered Manager at Brunelcare added:

“All three companies are also recruiting people who have never worked in care too. We are looking for new recruits to help make a difference within communities across North Somerset to allow individuals to remain in their own homes and receive the compassionate care that they need to do so.”

Care worker positions are available in across North Somerset, so anyone who wants to find out more about working in the industry, can go along to one of the information days or get in touch by calling 07803 407247, 07860 403934 or 07803 407259.

Notaro takes on major care contract

Notaro Homecare Ltd takes on major care contract in N. Somerset to help more people…

We at Notaro Homecare Ltd have taken on responsibility for a major care contract to add to our existing services and this will also mean more job opportunities in the local area, North Somerset (November, 2016).

Hundreds of people are currently supported by Notaro Homecare and following the success gained from these services we have now been awarded a further 3,000 hours per week starting on December 14.
Sam Notaro, Company Business and Development Manager, said:

“As an award-winning organisation, we’re currently looking for 60 staff members to join our team and are hosting recruitment days on November 23 and 24 at our offices at 25, The Boulevard, Weston-super-Mare, above Bottelino’s restaurant.
“We’ve been operating at a very high standard for a number of years across North Somerset and have an excellent team of highly trained staff, but this new contract means we are now looking to take on a further 60 staff in Weston-super-Mare to add to our current, valued and highly motivated team.”

We will be responsible for future care packages for Weston, Banwell, Hewish, Kewstoke, Locking, St Georges, Wick St Lawrence and Worle. This strategic partnership with North Somerset Council will commence before the New Year.

All staff currently working for the Human Support Group are eligible to transfer to Notaro Homecare on, or before, December 14 on the same terms and conditions as they currently enjoy.

“We are keen to make the transition from one provider to another as seamless as possible for everyone involved.
“When care providers change, it’s natural that people have concerns. What everybody wants is continuity and that’s exactly what we want to provide too.”

Under TUPE legislation there are well established arrangements in place to ensure all existing staff are given the opportunity to transfer into a new provider on at least the same pay and conditions as they currently receive, and carry on delivering care and support to their existing service users.

“We would like to hear from people who currently work for the Human Support Group in North Somerset, who would like to continue in the same employment, but with Notaro Homecare. We’d like to reassure them and explain that we want to employ them.
“Our staff are really looking forward to working together to safeguard the service we provide and if you are a service user who wishes to get in touch, we’d love to hear from you too.”

Due to our continued hard work and dedication to the sector, Notaro Homecare Ltd support hundreds of people remaining in their own homes. We provide an extensive range of services, from daily calls and sleep-ins to bespoke live-in care services.
