Come and chat to our carers at the jobs fair…

NORTH Somerset folk looking for a new job or a change in career can meet our homecare staff and find out more about working in the industry at a recruitment fair this month (September, 2017).

We will be attending the Weston Jobs Fair at the Winter Gardens Pavilion in Weston-super-Mare on September 27 from 10.30am until 2pm to meet people interested in working in care.

Nicky Norville, Registered Manager, said:

“We were recently one of three providers to be awarded the final care contract for homecare provision across North Somerset for the next seven years and are looking for people who are interested in a long-term career with us. Anyone looking for a job or a change in career should come along to the Weston Jobs Fair and chat to our staff about potentially working in the care industry.

They’ll be able to find out what it is really like to work in care from our staff who have cared for our service users in their homes, how rewarding it can be and how they can make a career for themselves thanks to the full, free training we provide and how they can progress up the career ladder.

As well as training in dementia care, new carers will also take part in a regulated training programme including emergency first aid or first aid at work, safe handling of medicines, moving and handling of people, health and safety, fire safety, safeguarding adults, infection control and food hygiene.

Each new carer will be shadowed by a senior member of the team for a minimum of one week. Thereafter they are regularly supervised and observed delivering care in the homes of service users.

New members of the team are encouraged to complete their NVQ L2 (QCF) Health & Social Care, if they don’t already hold the qualification or NVQ L3 if they are looking to become a senior carer.”

As well as full training, We also offer competitive rates, travel time for walkers and drivers, mileage payments, consistent hours, a refer a friend scheme and national discount scheme for major brands.

Nicky added:

“This is a great opportunity for anyone who might be struggling to currently find work and who might not have considered a career in care before. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates who want a long-term position as it helps our service users if they get to know familiar faces.

We will be happy to answer any questions people might have and we can’t wait to meet lots of potential new employees on the day.”
